I know this issue is brought up fairly often, so I'll try to skip what's been covered here on the forum before.
Today I was machining a simple shaft for an industrial customer from 2-7/16" diameter 4140 TGP in the 25-27 HRC range. Magnetism is so bad in these bars that even through the...
I've been rebuilding pneumatic cylinders night and day for weeks now using both chromed and "nitro honed" ( black nitride ) finished barrels. Depending entirely on what I can get delivered the fastest due to customer timeline demands.
The customer finally sent a few and gave me time to get...
I have an overload of work right now and had an RFQ com in yesterday for some apparently unobtainable knives for a doweler.
These are approximately 4-1/8" x 5-1/8" x 7/8 thick.
One slot, no holes.
6 pcs to be made.
Must be made of Modified A8
Hardened to 56-58 Rockwell C
If anyone out...
I have a customer requesting a bushing for their Harrison M500 lathe with D1-8 camlock spindle.
I found that it is a 5MT inside the bushing, but no spec on the external taper of the bushing.
Anyone know the answer?
Thanks
Good morning fellow forum goers.
I'm in need (customer request) of some 2-3/4" ID x 3-1/4" OD x 1-5/8 long hard steel bushings.
These are for a loader bucket with no factory replacement available.
I can machine length down just fine with ceramics so length isn't critical. However this is a...
First item is the Max-I-Pex 26J1K2081R01 63884-E
Insert mill w/ 15 inserts.
This mill uses 2 styles of inserts, I have only one of them. Buy the inserts and get a free mill?
$2.50 per insert ( Not every box is full) price too high? Let me know.
Unfortunately I have no inserts numbers on...
My problem begins with owning a Wohlhaupter clone boring head that holds 7/8 shank tooling. I have so far only found and bought an Everede bar, with 7/8" but it seems to enjoy a good chat whenever it gets acquainted with any work piece.
I have run across a few listed used on eBay and...
G'day all!
I just bought my third ( for the shop, 5th in all) bandsaw, and as would be the case, they all use different blades. Since I was in immediate need for this "new" saw I set out to find new blades locally, but to no avail at my required size. No local suppliers making customs, etc...
As posted. I need a smallish (or not) planer for a recurring customer job. The part is 4"x12"x48" solid block of mild low carbon steel that needs to be FLAT (shiny not required) . My mills just don't give the desired finish. A re surface usually requires 0.050" removal.
I have found one at a...
Does anyone by happen chance know the MFG and size (tons) of this puller? I just acquired it at an auction but as you can see it is missing the hydraulic press portion. I just don't think a screw is gonna work on this one! I'd like to find an original unit, but need to know what I'm looking...
I recently repaired the very severely worn dogs two months ago as they could no longer be held in the engaged position let alone stay there on their own.
Last week the entire unit showed up at my shop like this, also needing many other repairs at the same time. I have been asked to quote this...
As the title says I very suddenly need a honing machine for hydraulic cylinders. 60"+ stroke, 9" working diameter minimum.
A large industrial customer of mine just called today to ask/warn me they now need all of their cylinders rebuilt out of house, up til now it was nearly all in house...
As the title says, I need to buy anodized aluminum air cylinder tube 4-1/4"Id, 4-1/2" od.
I usually buy cylinder components in full stick form for stock, but this one is elusive.
Any leads would be appreciated!
Thanks
Jacob
Hello everybody!
I am in need of some help, I'm just too busy to run these myself in a timely manner.
I need 5-25 pcs of these no longer available, discontinued Atlas pneumatic cylinder rod glands. I'd prefer these quoted at the 25 pcs, but if somebody has leftover material and wants to quote...
I'm parting out this machine because all of the bearings were destroyed by coolant mixing with the headstock oil due to a leak between the reservoirs. the customer was going to send it to the scrapper so I thought I'd save it just long enough to see if anybody here needs parts, otherwise off it...
Hello Ladies and Gentleman
As titled I need to manufacture, or better yet FIND a noodle knife set.
these are for a local production company, the set they received were the incorrect width. A 1.5 mm width set is what they have requested.
Dimensions are: 32-1/8" long die, 82 mm diameter, 40-1/2...
Hello everyone,
My question today is;
Is there a downside to having a larger granite surface plate (other than floor space and resurfacing/certification costs) that I may be overlooking.
With more customers asking for precision machine repairs every year I am starting to seriously look...
Just bought this off of the "bay". purchased it for a customer project to reach into way grooves, but that job is in another post.
However this thing has me questioning what it's original intended use? must have been for "production", right? paint pen dated 11/1/60 but no idea what the date...
good evening, started this thread at the good advice of Richard King so that we can better discuss the issue at hand.
A quick recap; I have a sawmill asking me to repair the way retaining grooves which are both rusted and warn. (I'll find out how much on Wednesday)
the question is, to scrape...
Got a fun job thrown back in my lap after passing on it two weeks ago. ... After it passed through five other machine shops.
Internal threading a 2-1/2" 3 tpi LH Acme in brass.
The parts are finished all but the bore and threads and rather expensive to boot. So no room for error.
I have no...
