Hey all,
Other than laser marking, is there a relatively easy way to put labels on my tool holders so I know which tool# they are? Waterproof labels? Will that throw off the tool balance and wreck my spindle? anything like that? How do you all do it?
Hey all,
Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but I've never seen such a tool before.
No pilot hole, and drills/threads at the same time.
My dealer is bringing some for me to try. Anyone had any experience with these? Time savers? snake oil? any trick to getting it to work right?
I know Harvey...
Hey all,
I am a maintenance tech and my HFO refuses to sell me the Haas maintenance tech tools (even though I know for a fact they can..) I know someone who has them so im just going to borrow them and reverse engineer them. If I have them made, does anyone else need them?
Also, I'll be making...
Hey all..
I have a VF2 that I added a floppy emulator to. It lost power, so im locked out of enabling the floppy option.
Haas is saying they dont offer the floppy option any more and my only option is to upgrade the motherboard to accept USB. They quoted me $13,000.
Does anyone know of any...
This is what i was trying to make. I ended up downloading the CAD as was suggested here. The CAD model has the spindle in the wrong orientation, probably so that I cant do precisely what im doing. but its cool.
2 dowel pins in the hole let you get the spindle tool change orientation way easier...
Great points.
No the faceplate on the indexer is dead nuts. Usually the boss on the end of the fixture is really close as well when clamped. I believe you're correct.
Hey all,
We run Haas rotaries on the right hand side of our tables with A-frame supports on the left side as needed. My process has always been getting the rotary straight and square, then bolting the fixture to the face plate of the rotary, then using shims on the A frame to get the A frame...
Hey all,
I am looking to make a small spindle alignment tool that just has a slot for the spindle dogs to sit in and then two pins which will seat in the two mounting holes on the spindle nose face. I'm unable to find a drawing that shows the dimensions of those holes however.. Any ideas where...
Hey all,
Apologies if this exposes my lack of electrical knowledge.
I know that you can use auxiliary M codes (M21-26) to trigger external devices. I would like to use one to trigger a solenoid valve and supply air from a second source. The solenoid I have uses 120V AC power. I BELIEVE that...
Hi all,
I am looking to adjust the distance that the spindle travels in the +Z direction as it releases and re-clamps the drawbar. To clarify, what I mean is this. The tool change usually follows this order:
Spindle goes home (Z0)
Pocket comes down
Arm comes down
arm engages both tools/drawbar...
Hi all,
I'm trying to write a macro that can auto populate my tool table with values from a tool height pre-setter. I'd like for it to first clear the tool table so no old values are left over. Is there a quick simple way to do this? If not, I would guess that writing a sub that clears one tool...
Hey all,
After looking inside a machine of ours that has the memory lock switch i realized that it was a really simple part. I was going to try to order this off amazon:
Baomain Mouting hole size 11mm On-Off Two Terminals 0.43‘’ Keyswitch Keylock Switch with Keys Pack of 2: Amazon.com...
Hey All,
I got a prototrak TRM 2 axis mill. Similar to a knee mill but the head moves up and down a column. Anyone have any experience converting to a 3 axis? Basically this guy here:
Thoughts?
Good point!!
I've been programming/running/fixing machines for about as long as i've wanted one, so im pretty decent there, but your point remains. I guess I just figured it was a protection on the investment.
Thank you!!!!
All good advice. Thanks. Outdoor enamel sounds like the way to go. The cool thing is, its in rough shape outside but inside its amazingly clean. The outer appearance is bad, but it is literally from neglect and lack-of-use. Its a best-case scenario. But im definitely going to put...
