I'm slowly finishing everything that was back-burner'd from restoring the 10ee. I broke this part EE-2809 when I was cleaning everything because the set screw was completely painted over and I missed it.
I modeled it in fusion and made a replacement. For some reason, I cannot make decent...
I made up some chip guards out of an aluminum baking dish, and made a cad file of the template. You can 3d print the STL file and just roll with that if you want something quick and dirty, or use it as a template on a baking sheet like I did.
the screws are wrong, I'll change them out later...
Yeah, this didn't really give me any good information. The headstock and bed were already scraped into alignment, and a test bar I cut proved it. The inaccuracy of the bore laser didn't matter, it just inscribed a circle instead of a dot. Oh well.
if this is dumb, let me know.
here's my thingiverse file.

I made a chamber in the small end to fit a .223 boresight laser, $8 on amazon. even if this is off axis, it will draw a circle around the axis, so it is quick and easy. This drew a tiny circle...
I did a 16 cw a few years ago and don't recall any issues at all. Just very very dirty. If I were to do it over I would soak everything in kerosene for a couple of days. Weapons grade dirty.
This is an attempt to copy the stock ELSR logic operation with a VFD. Handles and cams all run the same way, but the 'neutral' position switch is un-needed by the VFD.
Turns out, the VFD takes a fwd/rev lockout into account with it's internal logic and treats a combined fwd/rev signal as a...
Reviving an older thread - but I think this will work...
Finally reached the point where I am starting to wire the lathe up. I think I may have a simple way to use both drum switches safely. I'm thinking of using the bottom switch of the ELSR, which is closed when the rod is in the "center"...
I'm reasonably certain that this bushing came with an assortment of Monarch bits and bobs I purchased off Ebay a year ago, and not off this lathe. I restored a '43 16cw before the 10ee and needed some correct hardware.
I double checked all my fasteners that I have remaining, and I don't have...
Finally getting close to the end of this rebuild, 2 years into a 6 month resto. As I'm filling various parts of the lathe with oil to chase leaks, I overfill the spindle area and quickly realize the drain line isn't hooked up. Found where I stashed it and couldn't figure out where it is...
Thanks for the suggestion! I pulled the flat pulley wheel and it isn't that bushing. There are a couple like that in the apron, but I would have noticed one missing when I reassembled it. Main issue is this has been an 18 month process. Apron went back together first and sat wrapped on a...
Embarrassing problem here, Does anyone recognize this bushing right off the bat? it's a 3/4" bore with oil grooves. I am finally getting to the end of my rebuild and I have this left over. Can't for the life of me remember where it went. I did not get into the headstock so I know that's...
