    Hold down requirement for tool post

    I bought a DA tool post from a fellow member. I made a T nut with 1”-14 threads to fit my Lodge and Shipley model X 20” HD. Would it be sufficient to thread some 1” cold rolled rod or do I need something hard for this application?
