    Help backing up Fanuc 21i

Are you trying to back up the MTB ladder? On our 16s and 18s there's a keep relay you can change that'll give you the ability to back up the ladder and sysprogram files from the System screen. Not 100% sure it'll work on your 21. I'd check with Fanuc. They should be able to tell you if it'll...

Old Star swiss wont close collets (main and rear spindle)?

Have you checked hydraulic pressure? That probably will affect your tool changing capabilities as well.

    Nakamura Toolholders

Have you tried eBay? We found holders there that were a pretty good deal several times for our Naks.

Nakamura TW20, Fanuc 16TT, need parameter to lock/unlock turret manually

Heard from my tech friend at Method's. There's no provision for me to do what I'm trying to do. The TW20 has a "lift and turn" turret. No hydraulic pressure keeping it closed. Thanks anyway guys.

Nakamura TW20, Fanuc 16TT, need parameter to lock/unlock turret manually

Greetings everyone. I have a Nakamura TW-20 (Fanuc 16TT) with a hydraulic leak out of the back of the turret. I'd like to put the machine in maintenance mode and manually lock and unlock the turret to see if the oil leak is related to the turret clamping pressure. On our WT-150 and WT-250...

G32 after G76 for thread cleanup?

I ran a few jobs where I had to go in and do a clean up pass because of a cross hole. And Bill is right. G76 infeeds at whatever angle you put in your initial G76 parameters so the Z start position isn't the same on the first pass as it is on the next or the last. And Kevin is right. You...

My machine will pump coolant then it will stop and run a cycle with no coolant. Pleas Help

You said it's a twin spindle with two coolant pumps. They share the same tank. Is there a divider in the tank between the two pumps? It'll likely be a screen type of thing. Maybe it's not letting coolant back to the 2nd pump?

Is there a way to tune torque sensitivity on drives on Nakamura TW-10 with Fanuc 16TT controler?

Fanuc provides an adjustment for max torque for all axes in parameter 2104. You can try lowering the max value for your particular axis to see if you can get the results you want. You'll need to be on the "side" you're trying to change. Only thing I'd worry about is getting the B-axis too low...

    Thread Roller Help

The only threads I've had the pleasure of rolling were much smaller than your 1.75 threads, but at a guess if you're rolling them for over two minutes you're taking too much time. The threads I rolled were 3/4 NPT and formed in a matter of 3-4 seconds.

    Need Help

At a guess it sounds like the 'R' value in the second line of your G76 (if you're using G76) is incorrect and you're not threading enough of a taper - you're thread isn't getting smaller as you're threading in the hole.

    1994 Nakamura-Tome TW-20 Power requirements.

They are, yes. Twin spindles, twin turrets, live tooling on both spindles. All three were fitted with collet snouts. They're still supported by Methods Machine.

    Citizen Cincom F16 help needed

U and W are incremental moves. The command W-0.050 would move Z in a negative direction 0.050 thousandths. How are you calling up tool offsets? It should look something like this: T1500 (Calls up station 15) G0 X0.100 Z0.050 T15 (Adds the information in the geometry page for tool 15 and moves...

    Machining Student Seeking advice

I just retired from machine shop last November after 47 years. My advice? Get a job in computers. Make machining a hobby. My oldest son makes 3 times what I make. He just paid cash for his house ($430k).

Ideas or methods of rust removal?

It came off an old Grand Rapids O.D. grinder (circa 1945). Been sitting pretty much idle for the last 15 years or so.

Ideas or methods of rust removal?

I pulled a 6" 6-jaw Bison chuck from an old O.D. grinder that was being scrapped. I'm trying to clean it up and make it pretty before I try and sell it and I wanted to know if any of you fellas had any ideas to remove the corrosion from the surface. I don't want to do anything mechanical...

Meta Language for generating CNC code

Where I worked there were several lathes, a WT-250 and several WT-150s, all Nakamuras. The differences between them in years alone, even though they were all 18i controllers, made it necessary to edit programs that needed to run when switched from one machine to another.
