    Strange axis feeding issue

I'm no Fanuc expert by any means, but I think the 2 encoders "compare notes" and will throw an alarm if they're on different pages. How's the other pulley and belt look? I also don't know if removing the encoder will disturb anything? it looks like it can be clocked?

    Strange axis feeding issue

Looks like maybe an encoder issue. How is the encoder set up on this machine? Is it belt driven or hall affect sensors? I had a similar problem on one of my lathes that uses hall affect sensors. There was some congealed coolant or something on the rotating part. I cleaned it up good and that...

Okuma&Howa ACT 3 bar pulling problem

So it appears to be waiting for a signal from a non existant barfeeeder. Sorry I don't know how to address that. Hopefully someone else can help. Might be a setting or parameter that needs changing, but I have no experience with bar feeders.

Okuma&Howa ACT 3 bar pulling problem

May be another M code to allow for movement with the chuck open?

Okuma&Howa ACT 3 bar pulling problem

Are you positive M15 & M14 are chuck open & close?

Okuma&Howa ACT 3 bar pulling problem

    1) You have to find the M codes to allow for motion with the spindle idle. On my ACT & HL machines it's M34. 2) You need to add a G98 in the N07 line or before it to put the machine in IPM feedrate mode. I use Royal pullers so I feed off of the part and not at X0. Here's a piece of one of my...

Does anyone make a quiet CNC Lathe

2 of my lathes have Nachi hydraulic power units. I rebuilt one of the pumps due to a seal leak. They are variable vane pumps, maybe the vane pumps are quieter than piston pumps?

Does anyone make a quiet CNC Lathe

Could be clogged pickup/ filter(s). One of mine was really noisy. Turns out the screen filter in the sump was clogged up making the pump work harder. Cleaned it out changed the filter and oil and it was a lot less noisy.

Anyone touch a Trak VMCsi machine?

It's Fanuc soooo..... The only thing the Haas has on it is user friendliness. With that being said, all of the other plusses are helping me quickly get over the Haas control 🤣

Anyone touch a Trak VMCsi machine?

Look at DN solutions. By the time you option out a Haas the DN is a way better machine very close in price. They also offer a line directly to compete with Haas, I believe it's the SVM series. The SUPERIOR chip control alone on the DN is enough to make me want to replace all my Haas's with DN...

    DNM5700 tool data table question

Thanks for your reply! To minimize tool change time. I just ran a 650pc job that used 21 tools. Some of the tools were in the cut for only a few seconds. I noticed the machine sitting there waiting for the next tool to get into position (I did pre stage next tools). My thinking was, if I...

    DNM5700 tool data table question

Thanks. I got as far as turning tool management on, but cannot figure out how to initialize or reset all of the pockets.

    DNM5700 tool data table question

On the IHMI control is there a quick and easy way to reset the tool data table so that the tool numbers match the tool pockets? Machine is 2023 if that matters? Thanks

Collet chuck choice.............S26 or Quick Change?

To clarify, my issue was with removing Hardinge collets from a Royal chuck.

Collet chuck choice.............S26 or Quick Change?

I noticed the same thing. My solution was to install 3 #8 or 10-32 set screws (can't remember which size) into the aluminum sections that have the pins pressed in them. This allows me to change how far those pins pull in when collapsing the collet. I used some blue loctite so I can adjust them...

I spent 150 bucks on amazon and added (reliable) washdown to the 2023 DNM5700 I just got for my garage.

I've been trying to come up with something for my 5700. My concern with your setup would be dead heading the coolant pump. Thinking of something similar but adding a pressure relief valve and dumping coolant back into the tank when I'm not spraying the inside of the machine down.

Nak as200L sub what’s your experience with one?

To expand on the above. Watch this guage as soon as the machine kicks on because when it does one of the first things it does is pump oil. I do this every time I fire up a machine just for piece of mind.

Just ran this simple test program and it ran without issues. Thank you for the clarification!
