The no100 is like a Jacobs drill chuck that's fitted with brass jaws. The jaws on my no. 100are pretty much shot, so I'd like to buy a replacement set. I believe the kit is known as a Jacobs U100. Thanks! ... Gregg

    Albrecht Chuck, Loose jaws

The jaws of the Albrecht Classic 130 chuck on my drill press are loose. Which is to say, that with no drill being held in the chuck, I can move the chuck jaws in and out of the chuck about 0.040" with my finger. This makes it a real pain on the drill press, because gravity causes the jaws...

    Duplicate user name ?

I was checking my user settings today because it looked as if my PM notifications are turned off. So, I checked my settings by clicking on my user name in one of my posts, and found myself looking at someone else's profile Checking further, I'm thinking there may be an error in the database...

WTB: Starrett # 249 Slotting blades

I've checked, and it seems that Starrett has discontinued these. The set I have is getting pretty dull from regular use (!) The # 249 is a set of blades that fit into an 8" hacksaw frame. They look like short hacksaw blades, but the teeth have no set, and are square cut ... so you can used...

FS: York Bullet vise, Wilton style

Here is a nice little swivel-base vise I have for sale. It was made in Czechoslovakia, about 1965, and is very lightly used: If it looks like a Wilton Bullet, that's because York vises happen to be the ones that Wilton copied. More info at...

A friendly challenge: how to do this?

I haven't been able to come up with a good way of doing this, so I thought I would pose a friendly challenge to the group. Basically, I need to accurately locate the position of a lubrication hole through the wall of a valve guide while it is still installed in the head. This is because the...

FS: Electric Die Grinder with Tool Post Bracket

I bought the die grinder new some years ago, and simply have not used it enough to warrant keeping it. It was sold under the craftsman name, as well as DoAll as I recall. It runs at 24,000 RPM, at 1/5 HP. Included is the wrench, and the tool post bracket in the photo below. The whole...

Anyone Recognize this Solid Carbide Cutter ?

A friend gave me this cutter, and we have no idea what it is/was for. I've done a web search on the marked numbers, with no luck. It looks to me like some sort of counterbore with multiple steps. Here are the markings and various dimensions: R901000528 T-261 -087- OAL= 5" Shank =...

    WTB - ER40 Collets

I need a few ER40 collets ... I bought a Shars collet chuck which is OK, except that I didn't notice they omitted a 1/4" collet and a few other useful sizes. Problem is that buying them one at a time from Shars afterward is a pretty expensive way to go. I'm hoping someone here can sell me some...

Who makes this Drill Sharpening Jig ?

I got this drill sharpening jig a while back, and set it up with its own motor this week. I think I've seen an ad for this jig in a 1939 Atlas machinery catalog as a "Model W30" ... but nothing more. It's much more rigid and stable than the gool old General jig, and the micrometer adjustment...
