How do they do this ?
Relatively common, familiar item to me. Just realized that I'm not sure how they do this. This a mass-produced item (50 000 units), done quickly and inexpensively and with quite good precision, from bar stock on a CNC lathe. But, those four notches in the inner wall... not sure how they do... -

Giant Thread Pitch on Lathe ?
Just noticed that one of my lathes ( Köping S8" ) has a nifty threadcutting finesse. Besides the wide range of thread pitches from 0.3 mm to 15 mm, and similar in inches-- 80 ish tpi to 1 1/2 tpi roughly-- there is a lever off to the side that gives a factor of either 4X or 16X.
