Just bought these.
Three cabinet card photos of Morton Key-Way Cutters, taken at the factory prior to 1891, when they were still in Romeo, MI.
Also an 1887 ad.

Back in 2012 I found, on the internet, the American Antiquarian Society
It had some early Bement & Dougherty illustrations from 1866.
Also a Phoenix Iron Works gear cutter (1860-1865) and Trumbull Iron Works illustrations from the mid 1850's.
I had posted this on the PM. I never really explored...
Just picked up this cute little 18" A.F. Prentice & Co. drill press.
I figure it was built between 1871 to 1874.
A.F. Prentice & Co. started in 1871.
The sellers tag says Kelly, Howell & Ludwig, Philadelphia, PA.

From time to time, on this site, there have been questions asked as to what taper was used on various antique lathes.
I found this article in an 1885 American Machinist Magazine.
American Machinist had sent out a question to machine tool makers of the day asking what taper they used for lathes...
There is an H. Bickford Vertical Boring Mill coming up at an auction 11/29/2017 in Albuquerque, NM.
Made after Henry Bickford moved back to New Hampshire.
Would not want the junk man to get this.

The riggers warehouse, where some of my machines are stored, is raising my rent by almost triple.
