A very good friend has a contract to do some repair/restoration on the "historic" Watsons Mill in Manotic Ontario ( near Ottawa)
One of the many issues that need to be addressed are the worn/broken/loose/mis-shapened teeth on the drive wheel from the turbine to the shaft of the mill grinding...
I posted this question in the antique form but did not get a response, so I'll try the larger audience here :-))

I am working on my 12" Hendey shaper's oil system. it is re-circulating system, that pumps yje oil through a felt filter before it goes to the various parts of the machine. The drawing I have says to change the filters if the oil flow is reduced.
The felt in the filter box is pretty gooey so I...
I have been asked to make some tooling for an older English built machine. I have to march a thread that is, nominally 2 x14tpi ( internal thread)
I do not have a whitworth gage ( yet), and was wondering if anyone has a quick and dirty way to check to see if the thread is 55* or 60* ?
I have...
I wonder if anyone could WAG what this poor specimen might weigh?

I looked it up in the Cope book but there is not much info.
I have recently bought an 8" General (Canada) jointer project. It is all there but disassembled and rusty/neglected. I plan to refurbish it, use it for an upcoming job then probably sell it.
I don't do much woodworking anymore as I have difficulty with dust, so the machine is not a keeper for...
I have just recently sold my big milling machine, and am planning to make the F4 my primary mill.
I would like to add a DRO to it, as I had one on the big mill.
I had a Newall c-80, and liked the quality, and relative ease of install.
What would the collective suggest as a good fit on the F4...
A friend pointed this out to me today. Looks like an older F3. 380V 3ph with a 380-575 transformer

I am working on the gear motor for my 12" Hendey shaper. I have had to disassemble it to replace several bearings that are very noisy. ( there are 9 bearings in total)
The whole thing is covered in 85 years of black crappy goo. The majority of this is just a Varsol job, but I am hesitant to...
As noted in threads below, I have recently acquired a 1937 Hendey 12" shaper.
It has a vise, but not the original. ( common problem with shapers)
I would like to get an original one, or something very close.
If anyone has one or knows of something I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks in advance...

Happy New Year all!
I am considering adapting a Beaver mk1 milling head to my Aciera milling machine.
I have found one for sale locally for reasonable money, but know nothing about them.
My interest in this is that it is reasonably compact, and has a #30 spindle taper like the rest of my mill...
