I am in need of the bolt for the carriage lock (9" Workshop). I have the lock base but the bolt was welded back together and poorly at that. I emailed Ted and he didn't have any at this time. If someone has a good spare to sell or actually knows where to get one I would appreciate it.

Anyone have a decent spare laying around they want to sell.
eBay prices are rediculous for used ones.
This would need to be around 7" or so in diameter with the 1 1/2"-8 thread.
Thanks!
Does anyone have a spare original steadyrest for a 9" Workshop they would like to sell.
I have 2 lathes and don't have one for either, been borrowing one from a friend about 6 miles away when I need it, would like to get away from that.
Thanks!!
Mike
I bought another Workshop 9" from Chad (iwananew10k) about 2 weeks ago, the tail stock wrench was missing, anybody got a spare to sell laying around? A spare carriage lock wrench would also be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Mike
Has anyone bought and used the adapter from Miller machine that goes from the mt3-mt2 for the 9" headstock?
I have been turning some stuff lately that requires me to turn between centers and while i have a mt3 to mt2 adapter it is the kind designed for the tailstock and when used in a headstock...
I have a lantern toolpost that came with my 1943 9" Workshop lathe 8 years ago. It is in good shape, no toolholders, only the lantern part. Anybody that wants it can have it for $6.50, thats $5.20 for shipping USPS and $1.30 for the time to go to the post office.
Don't suggest I keep it, there...
There are quite a few of us that live in the central and north end of the state. We need to plan a get together for a meet and greet!!
Anybody up for one?
Well I finally got around to fitting the large dial conversion parts to my 9" lathe that I got from member (iwananew10k). He did a great job of making the parts. Remember these were more of a kit, I had to stamp the dial, drill and tap for the thumbscrew and shoe, had to fit the stub shaft to my...
Anybody interested in making a mt2 plug.
I do not have a taper attachment on my 9" machine. I want to make a tailstock die holder so basically I need a mt2 taper with a about 4" of straight shaft in front of it and centers on both ends. Basically I need something similar to this that I can...
Anybody have a good photo or drawing of what the tailstock bed wipers looked like on the front of these tailstocks? I would like to add one to my 9" machine to help keep the bed clean and keep stuff from getting under the front edge of the tailstock. Might be interested in one if the price is...
When you turn a diameter to a shoulder how do you guys know when to stop, as in how do you set your lathe up to cut a shoulder say 3.256" from the end of the stock?
I have never heard mention on here how some of the newer less experienced guys deal with this. How do some of the more...
Anyone got a spare 5"-6" 4 jaw laying around they want to sell? I need one for my South Bend 9" with the 1 1/2"-8 spindle nose. If no one has one I guess I will call Joe @ Plaza machinery next week.
Paula, if this is not appropriate in this section please let me know!!
Thanks!!
The company I work for is fairly large. I work in a maintenance capacity repairing large (30,000lbs and up) molds and making nesting fixtures and such. There are 2 of us in the CNC area. We have been making do with Bobcad V21 for along time now (5 years). The problem is its getting harder to...
Anybody ever build one of these for there south Bend. This is designed for the Atlas and 7X mini lathes but it could be adapted quite easily for the South Bend 9" machine. I make a few parts that would be much easier to make with one of these, especially if I could find (decent priced) or make a...
I have a friend who just bought what appears to be a 1916, South Bend 13", serial number 9681, the bed appears to be around 5' long. It has power long and crossfeed but uses change gears, all missing at this point. We are going to go back next weekend and see if we can find them at the old guys...
Anybody have one of these and use it? Enco has these for $59. I do some small repetitive jobs on my 9" that having a center drill, drill, counterbore and chamfer tool all in one would be nice. How good are these and are they actually worth a crap? If they are semi decent I would splurge for one.
Anybody got a close up picture of the tailstock dial on a 10K and view of how its assembled. I would like to add one to my 9" tailstock, dimensions would be even nicer!
Thanks!!!!
Anybody got a picture of a 9" machine with a 3c collet rack on it. I would also like a good picture of a collet rack clamp for a 9" Workshop. I would like to make a similar rack to hold my collets and collet tube.
Thanks!!
I contacted Ted, (SBlatheman) a week or so ago about a spare copy of the "How to run a Lathe", my lathe was built in the 40's and he sold me a perfect 39th edition version, this thing is an original that looks like it had never had the binding cracked open on it. This one goes in the house in...
