The LTL quotes were using the "Used LTL commerical goods" category and picking the Pallet option. LTL quotes were automatically generated by the system after I provided item description and pickup / drop-off zip codes.
The $2K quotes were using the Option where multiple shippers can give custom...
So far the lowest offers I've got from uShip is about $2K. The LTL quotes from trucking companies were much less.
Anyone used Estes Express Lines or T Force Freight ? They provide LTL shipping.
In the past few years I couldn't find any UPS or FedEx stores willing to go fetch small stuff. The only places who do that are some PakMail and independent Pack-N-Ship stores. Most won't but a few will. And it has to be light enough for them to carry.
Around the Dalles / Mt. Hood. Navis tends to be expensive and when I have contacted them in the past they typically want the stuff brought to them. Just hoping to find some individual or trucker who is coming from there to the Wis / Illinois area and has space in his/her truck or pickup.
I was just trying to list on uShip. Unlike in the past they don't have the option to list the item and receive multiple bids. Now they ask me if it is on a pallet, the weight and dimensions, zip codes and then provide me with prices from several commerical LTL carriers.
