Is it just me? I've noticed several new posters posting ads in the "For Sale" section of the forum for the first time.
I thought they had to post and be active for a few postings before they could post a for sale item for the first time. Is PM changing their rules a little?
I was looking at a Cleereman jig borer near me for sale.

Not sure which size it is, they appear to be all the basic same size except for the length of the table. It seems to have a decent work capacity for a bigger light duty mill.

I took a look at this neat old LeBlond lathe at HGR today.

For as old this lathe is, it is in nice shape, not bad at all if you are looking for a lathe with a larger swing. i forgot to see what the maximum RPM of...
Here's a old steam engine this guy brought back to life.
This steam engine had been in storage ever since before WWII. It was saved from being scrapped off for war efforts and after the war forgotten about until 2015. This is located in the city of Woburn, MA. Enjoy!
For anyone who is interested in what I have in my shop. A friend of mine down here in my part of the woods came by my place a couple weeks ago and offered to film my shop and share it on his channel. Here is the link. Enjoy!
The Wanted Section
Please be specific and describe the part as well of you can if it is not obvious. Dimensions, catalog photos, placement and purpose will all help those of us with "spare parts" boxes to figure out what it is. List the model and style (ie Series I or II, J or 2J,) and post a...
This thread is for the posting of Bridgeport, Hardinge, and light duty iron items (or copies) for sale/trade only.
You might want to consider also reflecting any posts in the main "for sale" forum on Practical Machinist unless you are targeting this group only.
Ebay and other links are...
I copied this from another thread to here so the other thread does not get cluttered up from this being off topic. There has been several already mentioned comments made on the other thread. Maybe one of the moderators can move the comments over to this thread. Ken
Does it really matter if...
I'm fixing to pick up a older model Grob bandsaw Tuesday that is located about 200 miles from my place. I want to place a couple of 2 x 6 runners under the bandsaw and secure. From the pictures provided there are no external brackets on the base of the saw for bolting down to a skid. My...
Looking for a USA/Canadian supplier for grade 5140 steel. There are many international designations for this steel and I won't list them here. Bar size is around 2" OD solid and only need a piece 12" long. Be willing to buy a full bar length of this material if needed. Annealed condition is...
I Stumbled across this on a email that came across my computer.
Interested that it is a Brown & Sharpe Micrometer replica an not Starrett. Of course this could be a real good job of Photoshop editing, too.
What do yaw think?
I have a client that is having troubles finding a screw machine shop that can make brass slotted or socket headless set screws. There are many shops out there that can make them but have no way to shear test them to verify what they shear at. Specifics can be provided, for general, the sizes...

Matt, be glad it's too far from home.

The guy that was supposed to buy my lathe backed out today. So it is back up for sale. This is a 20" Gap bed lathe with about 76" between centers. It is a 1954 model, 10 HP. Weighs in at 8,000 lbs. Most of the lathe has been gone thru and reconditioned, some items rebuilt. The bed has been...
I like to share my experience using Moglice to repair the wear to the underside of a saddle to my 20" Model X Lodge & Shipley Gap Bed Lathe.
First thing I had to do was build some "levelers" to position the saddle on the bed so it is "square" and "level" or "parallel" to the bed. The levelers...
While looking at my favorite entertaining channel, ran across this 5/16 DS die head. Had to look at it several times and still don't believe it.
Machinist Lathe Mill Small Micro Geometric Die Head 5 16 | eBay
It appears to be completely welded up. Am I seeing this correctly????
Ken
Ran across this Le Blonde lathe. But after looking at the pictures closely, not so nice! Looks like it was dropped on end and busted up the tailstock, stand the lathe was setting on as well as the taper attachment.

Just thought I would share. Ken
I waswondering from those that have Model X and Powerturn lathes if youhave any issues with the carriage/saddle lubrication? Here's somequestions I'm interested in learning a few things about thelubrication system on these lathes.
Is your saddle getting the lubrication it should get? Full...
I do a lot of dispositions for some of my clients I work for. And this particular one keeps on coming up. I have no control of their processing, they have been told, they don't listen very well. Anyways in the attached picture is a sample of parts that have several pieces of carbide brazed in...
