Guys, this is a 6 year old thread.
I wacked off 18" from both dies and sold the left over 4ft pieces to another guy that has a press brake. He is now my local source to bend whatever I need, the short pieces I made a slide in brake for my press and it works fine for just bending up brackets...
Good to see free market capitalism where the seller and buyer agree on a price work..... even though several here think they, like some petty Soviet bureaucrats should determine the price.
Well for starters you said that in PM response to ,,,
Longest I have on hand is 37".....might be longer piece if I dig around.
After responding to a 4140 Prehard 5" Diameter Round Bar for sale ad.
So isn't just like you said it out of the blue.... and it was just casual conversation. LOL
Yes it is.
Everything is crystal clear in the ad and those PMs.
What the material is, the condition the price, the delivery cost, the timeline for delivery.
And you replied ...
Doug, thanks for getting back so quick. I could use a 5" bar about 6ft long to repair one of my presses.
Regards...
You have really got tangled up in your lies.
The price for material too heavy to ship flat rate was posted.
3rd time.
>>I have longer, but it would be too heavy to ship flat rate, so $150/ft, 3 ft min and you figure out how you want it shipped and how much it costs.<<
But you claim you didn't...
I am willing to stake my 20 year membership here that you READ the PM I sent you Monday at 5:19 am before today as you claim.
You willing to do likewise? I am sure the mod or admin can look and see when you READ it.
I am wrong, I am gone.
You lied, and you are gone.
Well?
Of course not...
Simple, you could read the OP.....
I have longer, but it would be too heavy to ship flat rate, so $150/ft, 3 ft min and you figure out how you want it shipped and how much it costs.
and do the 3rd grade math.
Let's all do it together, 6 x $150 = $900 + freight.
But freight wasn't the deal...
Well if you want to make it public.
Actually Garwood, you knew the asking price BEFORE you inquired if I had a 6ft piece.
From the OP.
I have longer, but it would be too heavy to ship flat rate, so $150/ft, 3 ft min and you figure out how you want it shipped and how much it costs.
I said I...
I have some 4140 Prehard 5" round bar, 28-32Rc that was ground and polished by Tuffs Grinding in Chicago, but has been banging around the shop, the protective cardboard tube is in tatters so the surface is occasionally nicked, slightly rusted and scuffed.
None of which matters if you are going...
The only thing idiotic are those 2 extremes, which are completely farcical.
I bet the amount was somewhere between a guy not wanting to lose it and not enough to buy it through a known steel supplier in 20 ft lengths, minimum order and all the rest.
CarbideBob is just another guy that feels it is appropriate for him to meddle in business that doesn't concern him (your asking price which the buyer agreed to) and insult sellers/buyers with his opinion of what the price should be in this classified forum.
It is a reoccurring problem that...
You had an engineer examine it, go with his advise and don't worry about 1/2" in 20 years.
Soil acts like a bed of springs, in fact that is how it is modeled. So you will always get some settlement from a load on the soil. Ideally the settlement is more or less uniform.
As mentioned above...
Well I am still getting inquiries from this ad.
I still have lots of gears, shafts, shift forks, handles etc..
I have sold or disposed of all the castings. So no headstock, tailstock, saddle, feedbox casting, etc...I have sold many internals but I have many of the internal gears and parts...
You should spend more time working on your own ads and less on critiquing other's ads, because you misspelled regularly, 'then the a' makes no sense and I think you meant 'too important' rather than 'too impotent'.
Or was this to be a personal/dating ad rather than an auto for sale ad?
The seller mentioned the rust.
The pics clearly showed the rusty latches.
The seller also noted the rusty handles.
One hen already squawked about the rusty latches.
Then you embellish it with your squawk of 'a bunch of rust'.
Fellow sour hen DDoug follows up with,
"Harig Lectric Centers in...
