Looking at the two finishes you can see the endmills aren't new. I'd use a brand new endmill and see what the finish looks like then. Ballbar test results - how to interpret?
Did you adjust the leadscrew back lash and re-run the ball-bar test? If your getting marks on the parts on XY direction changes it's easy enough to take an indicator, measure backlash and adjust without needing to pay for a ball-bar test.- triumph406

I have to make some tool wedges for the turret of my Mori cnc lathe. they have an 8 deg taper on the block and wedge "If only I had a wire, they'd be so easy to make......" I guess I'm going old school, vise mounted to a sine plate- triumph406

Probably because anybody who's looked into getting a WEDM had determined there's probably not work in Alaska that's going to justify getting one. Or at least the work that could justify one. That's about my ideal temperature too, at that temp I'll be in t-shirt and shorts, were everybody else is complaining about the cold wearing sweat shirts and jackets. Being 25% Finnish probably has something to do with it- triumph406
