Several years ago an engineer gave me a riddle to solve. (not sure why I am thinking of it now) Anyway, I was never able to solve it mathematically. So the riddle goes like this...
You have 3 gauge balls that are sitting on the same plane touching each other. You take a fourth ball and sit on...
Would like some info. if available.
This boring mill has a spindle encoder made by RSF model# DG 118.
Anyone have a pinout diagram for this encoder? we are trying to cross reference to a good substitute.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone out there using a tooling management database for their milling centers?
I am looking at the "Tool-Wall" (tool-wall.com). Kind of pricey, but looks good.
From what I understand, it rewrites your g-code based on tool placement and also sends the offsets to the control.
Know of any others?
Is it possible to install a smaller motor/smaller pulley combination on an air compressor to reduce amp draw?
I have a 7-1/2 hp Champion oiless and have limited power, so I am considering a 3hp motor with a smaller pulley. If I am basically "halving" the hp, should I half the pulley size?
Have to cut 7/16 wide,1/4 deep grooves in MIL-DTL-46100 armor plate.
Any suggestions for tooling and cutting conditions?
There are several hundred feet of grooves to cut.
Thanks
A few years ago, I found an advertisement for a device that mounted to a cnc mill table and allowed for repositioning to gain travel. It was like a table on a table. You would trip a lever and slide the table left or right to reposition the workpiece. I have an application for such an animal...
Putting new wood on my flatbed trailer and because the wood is treated, I am having to use galvanized bolts. I am also using zinc plated nyloc nuts. The problem that I am having is that the nuts get too tight and wring off the bolt(1/4-20 carriage). I plan to try to wire brush enough of the bolt...
We are using a 40hp phase converter and are experiencing a voltage sag of about 20 volts when running our cnc lathe. Only when ramping the spindle up to speed for less than one second. Anyone know of a device that will smooth out the sag?
I am looking at a used Clausing Storm 200B turning center with Fanuc OT control. The machine has 7000 hrs and was installed in 1998. Anyone have any experience with this line of machines? Good or Bad?
Thanks
