It looks like the compound on my 1942 10EE is missing the screw nut retainer. Does anyone have a picture of what it should look like so I can source a suitable replacement?

Yeah, I was going to go that route but then I noticed there is a taper in the nut below the surface of the compound. Monarch probably used some special fastener.

If you look at square-dial parts sheet 150, it's part EE-1444. So it is a custom part and a round-dial legacy part that survived into the square-dial era. Perhaps Monarch has them in stock for a reasonable price?

This is what the one from my 1956 square dial looks like. No reason to believe it is not original. Note the shop-made pin wrench sitting next to it. 0.125” pins on a 7/16” spacing IMG_0514.jpegIMG_0516.jpegIMG_0515.jpegIMG_0513.jpeg
