Automatic band saw drive wheel taper question

Hello everyone, our shop has a Marvel series PA10/3.

The drive wheel got loose and rubbed the keyway slot into dust. While a replacement arrives we are going to broach a new key slot.

Measuring with calipers best I can it looks like the taper is ~4.88 degrees per side.

Is a 5 degree per side taper common from this type of application? Or should I just trust my numbers. We are making a broach plug to fit into the taper of the wheel itself.

Close enough. There should be clearance between the top of the installed key and the bottom of the keyway. If in doubt, just make the keyway a little deeper.
