Bar puller for tough material?

Does anyone know it the spring finger type bar pullers prevalent on Ebay for $289 will grip into 4150 Normalized? I need to pull 2 inch bar through a Trusty Cook liner. I imagine it will but, having no experience with one I am looking for some words of experience.

I have been using these for years with good results, I lube the bars with unmixed coolant oil when I load them.
