Hi, we have a Brother TC324. The ATC keeps giving a 1167 alarm for the tool magazine. There is an address sensor that was loose. After tightening, it worked well for a few days and is now giving the same error. It seems to be random, not specific to any one tool number. We took the switch off and cleaned everything, after reinstalling the magazine has the same error but now it will also keep rotating for 4 or 5 tools and then alarm out. Wondering if the switch is bad or if it is not aligned properly? No dowels on the switch and there is quite a bit of play with the screws loosened. There is a slit plate that the sensor reads and it is doweled in place. Hard to find anyone with a lot of experience with brother cnc in this area, hope someone here can help!

Thanks

Did you try cleaning the slit plate?
What are you cleaning the switches with?
Check for a kinked wire to.

Cleaned the slit plate with a citrus cleaner we have here, sprayed on a towel and wiped it down. Just used a dry towel on the switch, no cleaner as it looked brand new. Hardly any oil or anything but i figured I should at least clean the slit plate just to see if anythign came off. Wires are tucked in a pretty tight space, they all looked kinked to me lol. Our electrician here had it out as well and didn't mention anything about wires being damaged.

Look for the wires where they turn a 90 degree angle. The problem wire might be back a couple of feet. brother machines are usually pretty simple and remember it almost always is something stupid that cause 's problems.

Manual says replace sensor, check wiring or replace ATCIO board. I think Elliot used to support Brother in Canada. Or you can try calling Yamazen in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a quote for a new address sensor and someone coming in that used to work on Brother machines.

Yes, Elliot Matsuura used to service brother and Emec before them. They are now with Ferro technique. The issue I find is most of the techs there don't have a lot of experience with Brother. Elliot always had good techs for Brother machines, too bad it changed hands once again.

I'll post an update once we figure out what is cause the issue.

It has been a long time since I worked on one and they rarely had issues. As I recall there is a little wiggle room on the address sensor and you needed to move it some and check the bits on the IO screen to get it set right. The 324 was a very good machine. One of the first Brother machines I ran. The new R450 machines are direct descendants...

Machine is now running. The address sensor just needed to be lined up a certain way to match with the slit plate. The tech we had in was familiar with Brother CNC and was able to line it up in a few minutes just by eye. Thanks again for the replies.
