Cheap Deckel and a new level of auction format?

Quiet here!

I thought about making a thread about the new level of cheapness for Deckel CNC's in Europe.
Even the Dialog 11's are so cheap now. I am like a dog that get thrown a thousand tennis balls. Its all so tempting.
But that for later.

Just for fun I clicked on one of the Surplex adverts that litter "Kleinanzeigen".
This got me here:
Just a grungy very late FP4NC.

But then if you click near the top on virtual 3D-tour you get to this:
Am I allowed to be blown away or is this uncool? I am probably the last one to notice.

I mean this is like google street view or these virtual house tours, but now for something that interests me.
Anyway I am impressed.

Now for ultimate satisfaction this needs to be in some swiss high end shop with drawers one can open virtually.

Martin P, Your second link is just too cool :geek: you can even rat around in the back for all the hidden stuff. Now we need somebody like Muller in Switzerland to do this. Thanks for posting great stuff!!

Surplex is definitely pushing things forward when it comes to online auctioning

but a warning regarding individual auctions - they are sometimes handled by their customers who use Surplex (and other) platform to advertise their auction, I'll mention one with which I had a very unpleasant experience to say it very lightly - Dechow, that was definitely the last auction I buy anything when they are running it, and I'm very cautious of the other German auctions now as well, not only Dechow rep ignored emails, they ignored calls for days, didn't supply any information about collection, didn't say they moved the items (air compressor with dryer and related bits) TWICE, I had the trucking company driver actually go to the last known address the lots were at, find someone on site that knew something, that person gave another address where the lots definitely are, which wasn't far away, so the trucker then went there, found out that things had been moved AGAIN, and got the 3rd address, this particular trucker couldn't waste any more time, so another one was asked to go there and actually collected the lot, no apology, no sorry, no nothing from that garbage of a dealer, for few days I honestly felt I got scammed
The only fault from my side was that I couldn't find anyone who would guarantee they'll make it on the advertised collection day, and that date was a bit unusual, there was only 1 collection day for that auction, and that was on Tuesday following the auction that happened on Thursday, which is unusually soon, I got the invoice on Thursday, payed it immediately, on Friday I emailed asking for payment confirmation (payment order was emailed to them on Thursday), since that is necessary for collection, never received an answer, right up until the collection day, and I had arranged for the driver to go there anyway, the driver then couldn't get there on time on Tuesday, I asked for info on other collection days/places, and then they went totally silent and ignored all calls and emails, only Surplex rep could be reached on the phone, and that one said that Dechow person handles everything, and that one didn't respond to anything
so yeah, I don't participate in any Dechow auctions any more, might have been a special case with that particular Dechow rep, but honestly I had no patience left to try again with them

Already at 3500€+20% taxes.
Looks quite beaten up too, black oxide coating on console worn completely off, so many hours in manual mode, probably a few crashes...

At the current price, I'd at least do a real inspection before buying, too much money for a machine with galled up ways or toasted spindle bearings.

That guy has much better offer:
7000€ for a like new machine with 4th NC axis, if you can fix the D11. Shouldn't be too hard, if you already have a working D11 in your shed.
Unfortunately just bought a Reiden BF1 for 3500€, so I'm out of money, else I'd probably already grabbed it ;-D

Surplex's reputation is on the dim side.
I had only one contact with them. They advertised/auctioned a machine, which was also advertised by a machine dealer elsewhere.
I called their contact number for that auction and enquired who is now really authorized to sell this machine. I did not get a coherent answer.

The machine on Ricardo is tempting.
But while these are the ultimate and final evolutionary step of the Deckel concept, I am bothered by that huge electrical cabinet, the stupid enclosure with very limited access, and I hear that there is yet another ventilator making lots of noise on these. That is the ventilator for the spindle motor (variable speed).
Of course mostly I have no space any more and was not able to figure out what and how to pay the swiss emission punishment road toll for my truck, if I go to pick it up.

Enclosure and chip pan on the front is extremely easy to rip off, makes the machine quite a bit smaller too.

Enclosure on the back actually is quite nice, because it keeps the dirt out of everything and sheet metal is much better material than that flimsy fiberglass/foam composite on D4's

Electrical cabinet lengthwise on the left side (on FP4NC, 2/3 likely a quite a bit shorter, so cabinett won't fit) instead of back IMO saves quite a bit space, too. Makes it about 60cm shorter and you usually couldn't use the space on the left anyway, since servo/moving table extend in the front and the wide electrical cabinet on the back.
Needs another 60cm of free space on the left though, to open doors and a pallet jack to move the cabinet to refill oils on the machine

If you think Deckel cabinet is big, compare that to a Reiden BF1, there it's about 3m long, 2.5m high and 60cm wide... First thing, if I have it working, will be angle grinder and welder, to shorten it about a meter.

I remember the big clearing auctions of the 70s and 80s......tool store rooms as big as most houses ,and filled with bits......bits of number punch sets, thread die sets, bits of boring heads, new gears for who knew what ...shelves and shelves of bits ...marvellous bits........had some funny episodes too ......one time I bought a factory office with dozens of filing cabinets.......they were filled with 70s hardcore porn magazines.....the kind of stuff would get you jailed then...........and got to know all auctioneers and urgers by name .........wonderful auctions....a whole huge factory cleared over week ......no silly rules on safety or loadings then either ......we bought a dozen big outdoor gantry cranes ,the kind the operator sits in a cab under the top rail.,and pulled them over ..........all the walkways at the GM factry at Acacia Ridge .....Im still remembered for setting the furnace oil tank on fire at GM.
