There's a glitch with the system software, I've passed it up the chain already. There are two separate places to enter location when you register. One is displayed by your user name and the other you can only see if you click on the person's name and then click on "About" - it's in there. If they don't fill out the right one you can only see location inside their profile in that "About" tab.

Thanks for posting the extra pics. Never seen a mill like that before, linear bearings? How ridgid is it when taking a heavy cut? Or is it built light for speed?
The control looks more modern than the original probably would have been, did you update the control and make other alterations to the machine?
Like the stainless cover on the spindle? Pretty sure Cinci never would have done that unless they were going through a Buck Rogers phase. I could have it all wrong so please give us all the info on an unusual machine.

Originally it was an NC (tape drive) converted to cnc. It’s a heavy casting designed for heavier cuts. The bearings (that Cincinnati originally used)are the Thomson recirculating ball linear type. They still make the same model.
The engineer that designed this conversion in Canada did a great job. Here’s a pic with the SS cover removed.

Ok, so everything we can see in the photos is factory updated? What year was it originally made and what year was it updated? Any idea how many of that model were made?
A quick google image search came up with no other machines that look the same.
That is a very good price for the size of the travels. It also just looks good all over for its age. Hard to believe it isn’t sold yet.

All I know is It’s an 80’s manufacting era. ( I have the Cincinnati manual) The cnc retrofit was done late 90,s by GPR industries for an engineer in Grande Prairie, Alberta. I bought it from a guy in Alberta that was building two stroke race engines for us here in the states. It’s a really heavy cast base and frame. ( just over 10,000 lbs).

The base and table at least are from a 60's Cintimatic. They came in two versions, horizontal and vertical. The 70's Cincies have more normal ways. I had an H40 that was perfectly happy taking a honkin big cut. Those round ways are like 3" in diameter, easily the equivalent of more normal box ways. As I remember, it doesn't have balls but more of a full-circle bronze bush around the way.

This is a really nice retrofit, should be a workhorse.

Thanks for that great info. I did have the bearings out to clean and check ( set clearance). They were the recirculating ball Thomson linear bearing.

Learn something new, I'm not as responsible, just ran the thing. Seeing those bronzey-looking carriers I just assumed it ran on those direct.

Ran it pretty hard*, with those big rails I think they are probably sturdier than a modern type linear way. That thing is old but nice, probably a better machine than a Fadal or Haas. Looks like a very high quality retrofit.

* With the horizontal, punched a hole through the wall with a long part and didn't even notice until the neighbor came over to have a word with me :-)

It may be helpful to post your location a little more precisely than just Wyoming, it is a big state after all.
Wish you were closer as that looks like an excellent machine even with the older control.
