Can anyone help with information on this mill I found in a railroad museum in Sweden?
It is a cone drive machine with two ratios of backgear and has the serial no. 3716 G on the column. It is in remarkable condition with all original handles, some arbors and a vertical head. It has the earlier screwed spindle nose. The latest patent date on the door is Oct 1900 and a small brass plate has the details -
"SCHUCHARDT & SCHUTTE BERLIN
Wien Stockholm St. Petersburgh Copenhagen Budapest London New York Shanghai"
All the brass plates on the machine are in German including the large one that gives the speeds with and without backgear.
Would the machine have been made in the USA with these plates or would S & S of Berlin have replaced then before sale ?
