I use big machines, but sometimes big is a hindrance. Quality small machines are just a kick to own, use and run, my favorites are Ames TriPlex (must be something in the Waltham air), and high speed sensitive drills. Everyone makes lathes, mills are a specialty that gets rare.

Thanks for your response and I agree that the quality small machine ARE a kick to own. I had this one sitting in my book case for quite a while to just look at and admire. This particular benchtop mill is in very good shape and the vise alone goes for a pretty penny.

That is the best Micromill I have ever seen, but I have only seen eight or ten in sixty years of looking. I think the price is fair, because the original vise is incredibly rare. Mine was incomplete when I got it many years ago, but I eventually made it into a vertical using a Derbyshire Magnus lathe headstock. Original verticals are much more rare than horizontals and more useful, in my opinion. I had to settle for a Proxxon vise, which is not bad.

Thanks for your comments.
You have a very nice set up there and I agree that the vertical mills are better suited for most operations. The vise on this machine is still very tight and only has one imperfection caused by someone that ran a slitting tool across the top of the vise jaws. This can easily be taken care of but I just wanted to leave it as original.

I'd love to keep this mill but really don't have any use for it and that will probably change once I sell it. lol
Hopefully it will bring someone that will actually use it much happiness.
