In theory they should be bolted down, once it is bolted down the blade clearance can be set and it will stay set. This probably only matters if you are shearing very thin materials. If you adjust the blade clearance to shear .005 brass with no burr and the shear moves the blades could hit. I only cut .035 to .062 and the clearance is set to give a burr free cut on .050 steel so not much chance the blades will hit if it moves around as the floor is flat and smooth where it is sitting. So mine is not bolted down ether.
Just got in this 42" Di-Acro for cutting sheets of HDPE and LDPE. Can this be operated without drilling and mounting to the concrete. View attachment 289193
if I could mount it to something else I would love it but will drill the floor if needed......
