DRO Install

Has anyone installed a DRO on a Hendey 12x30 18 speed gearhead lathe? I am having some difficulty figuring how to install the scale for the cross slide. It seems the best option is installing the scale on the chuck side as it won't interfere with the gib adjustment on the tailstock side of the cross slide. No real issues for the longitudinal scale if I can solve the cross slide problem.

I agree that's a weird geometry to try to put a bracket on. How hard would it be to mill a few flats on the milling machine if all else fails. Unfortunately no one at Handy works would have ever known what a DRO was
