I've been looking for a smaller (36" or so) sheet metal stomp shear (foot operated) and box brake. At an upcoming auction near me is a 36" shear by Economy Tool and Gage, of Chicago. Unlike the standard cast iron shears like Pexto, etc, this one is constructed from heavy steel plate, in fact the manufacturer's tag reads "all steel". It looks well-built, despite the company name. The tag is hard to make put in photos, but the model seems to read 33-16-2 so I'm hoping it is rated for 16 gauge steel, a plus, as most small shears are 18 gauge or less.

Any information on this company? I can't turn up any references so far. I'd love to find a catalog page that listed the capacity of this shear.

I know that I'm VERY LATE in replying to this post (10 years late!). But I just joined & have one of these.

I was curious as to ho much it'd be worth?

It does cut up to 16 ga sheet metal & is 36" wide.

I inherited it after my father & mother died & am just trying to get more information about it.

Anyone knowledgeable about this?
