Fanuc 21i Parameters

So i am trying to sort out my Harrison 1330 lathe.
Fanuc 21it control.
Issue is that the axis travels exceed the physical length of the screws. Bottoms out and generated a servo overload alarm.

Looking at parameters 1320, 1321, 1322 and 1323.
Do not understand the difference between them.
1320 and 1321 are labeled " Limit 1 Plus, and Limit 1 Minus"
1322 and 1323 are listed as " Limit 2 Plus, and Limit 2 Minus"

Why are there two sets of limits?
Currently the values have mixed sines, is this normal? All the "Plus" entries are "Plus" but the " Minus" settings have both plus and minus values?

1320 Plus =X 318000 Z 1037000
1321 Minus= X -30000 Z 35000

1322 Plus= X 118110 Z 407480
1323 Minus= X -13779 Z 3500
Can someone explain the difference and tell me which parameter i need to change to limit the travels.

Thanks for the explanation.
Having an additional issue:
Trying to limit the "X" slide plus direction.
I can change the values of parameter 1320 and the machine reacts as i expect.
A value of 130000 seems to give the travel just short of the limits.
However when i turn the power off and restart the machine the value always returns to 318000 which is way too large.
Why is this happening?
Note: Machine has absolute encoders if that makes a difference.

So, what you are saying is, even after changing 1320, it reverts back to its original value after a power cycle?
Does it happen only with this parameter or other parameters also?
 
Happens on the "X" value on both 1320 and 1321.
Have only tried the "X" so far but its consistent.

On edit reset happens on both the "X" and "Z" on both 1320 and 1321

I am not able to guess why 1321/1320 reset to their "default" values upon control reset.
Set 1300#2 = 1 and use 1327/1326 instead.
If that also does not work, use 1322/1323 with 1300#0 = 1
 
Thanks for all your help, i am still stuck!
Tried changing # 1300 with bit 2 at "1 " and set parameter 1327 and 1328 .......
Did not work, values in 1327 1328 had no effect on travels.

Changed # 1300 bit 0 to "1" and set travel values in 1322, and 1323............
Same result. Values in 1322 and 1323 had no effect on travels.

1320 and 1321 seem the only parameters that effect travels and the values keep reverting when the power is cycled.

Any other thoughts?

Wouldn't surprise me if the MTB writes those parameters in the ladder.

Are there any counters in the PMC parameters that have those same values?

Don't see any but not sure i am looking in the correct place.
went to "system" then :PMC" then "PMCPRM
There are some values there but nothing like what is being inserted in the stroke limit parameters.

You would look in that same place, but you want to check the "counters" and "data" tabs when you get there. "Timers" is shown by default.
