Fanuc 21i-T Transfer via pcmcia

Good morning all. Quick question for transferring programs via CF card and pcmcia. It's been awhile since I've had to transfer this way, and we have a cnc lathe that has it that we recently got. It's a 2002 so its not by any means new. Has a 21i-T controller.
I tried to read or punch and I get the alarm 086 DR signal off.
I'm pretty sure I understand why, and that the handshaking is not right, however I'm not sure how to fix it. Is this just a parameter change? Currently we do the programming on the machine so no programs have been transferred by any means yet so not even sure what's connected and what's not. I just have some that I would like to back up to the memory card for future use.

Do you have the I/O Channel in settings set to channel 4?

Yes.
Set parameter 0020 = 4
Alternatively, press OFS/SET key twice and edit to make I/O CHANNEL = 4

It is for Fanuc 0i Model C control, but most things are likely to be same/similar on other i-series Fanuc controls.
