FP1/Alexander Next Question

I wonder if you can help with my next question. I have started to strip down the my Alexander Toolmaster/FP1 clone, it is in pretty good condition. I am currently puzzled about the purpose of the grub screws on either side of the vertical slides. I have left the allen keys in to help you see what I mean. The screws on each side are different sizes and quite long but I cannot see what they do.
Thanks
Bob

Don’t know “Alexander” so just a guess.
Different size screws points to different application.
Guessing the one on the Operators side is a locking screw that secures the “ Z” axis gib adjusting screw. (Comes in through the bottom of the casting )
No idea on the opposite screw.
Cheers Ross

Both screws were only lightly tightened so I think I will leave them like that. Presumably similar screws are not present on the FP1
