I REALLY doubt that you will annoy anyone here by posting too many pictures!

Dunno how your price point will go over though. Nice rig. Wish I could buy it at that rate. Hope for your sake, I am simply out of line on pricing!

That PTO drive was an option, that could be hooked up to a TM/UM mill through a gearbox available that attached to the mill, and could be used for milling helical gears and such (I have a TM/UM, no gearbox). Probably not many people used that setup. I'm not aware of any other OEM hardinge setups that used the PTO (?). Guess one could adapt that PTO to something with a servo or stepper motor.

The hardinge-taper notched spindle-attached gizmo is a drive-plate for turning/mounting between centers; hardinge made dogs that go with that, which are two plates with bolts.

I have a nice set with the threaded spindle and no PTO. I'd like to find a taper-nose one since I have an HLVH and all sorts of chucks and step collets, that fit the taper mount. But I don't use it enough for it to be a priority.

Of course, another benefit of the accessories is that they may be used on any HLVH with the hardinge taper, and good-condition AHC chucks are hard to come by (I like those because the spindle mount is recessed into the body, so they don't stick out like backplate mounted chucks).
Good Luck with the sale, nice set!
There is no TM/UM mill. Hardinge made a TM (toolroom mill), which is a plain horizontal mill (table does not swivel). They also made a UM (universal mill), which has the swiveling table, making it a universal. Both models may have an electrical nameplate that says, "TM/UM" on it, simply meaning the plate can be used on either model because the electrics are identical.

The dividing head with the input shaft was designed for use on a UM mill and is required for spiral work on a UM. Of course, for plain dividing work, either type of head can be used on either type of mill.

The item for sale has head and tailstocks with different serial numbers, which probably explains the different key sizes. The Hardinge mills have 7/16" T-slots and their indexing and dividing heads came with 7/16" keys. As was mentioned, the 5/8" keys fit a Bridgeport table. There are orphan tailstocks out there, and one may have been found after the original tailstock for that head was lost. I only have two Hardinge heads with matching tailstock numbers. I don't think it matters much if the numbers are different.

Larry

Thanks to all for your input. I'll lower the price to $2,200.00 OBO for everything...
