Have another machine coming and have to let my Hendey T&G go. It's a 1945 9x18 with mechanical drive, runs on 220V 3 phase. Completely stripped down, new paint inside and out. Spindle bearings were repacked with Kluber grease. Every single other bearing in entire machine including PIV and motor has been replaced and the lathe converted from grease to oil lube. All new bushings and shafts in apron and belt feed drive and all belts were replaced. PM me for a fully detailed list of all work done. Does have some bed wear but will still turn short bearing fits within a tenth.

Located in yadkinville, NC 27055. I can load on anything you bring over or I may be able to deliver. Asking $3000

Very nice job on the refurbish. Any tooling included?
I have the original collet drawbar, nose piece and an assortment of Hendey collets that go with the machine. No other tooling included. It came to me stripped down and I've been borrowing stuff from that South Bend in the background.

I’m just curious why the south band gets to stay?
Sentimental reasons - it was the lathe my dad bought me nearly 30yrs ago when I took machine shop in vocational school. At nearly 82 yrs old he still enjoys puttering around it every so often when he visits. I really should sell them both but I'm just irrational that way.

Sorry to hear you have to sell your Hendey. Especially since it is a less common t&G model that appears you have put MANY hours into getting it back to it's former glory. :(

So who was the lucky buyer, anyone from PM? I did see it listed a few places other than here. :-)

That was a nice machine.
A non member bought it. It's going to VA to a fellow who makes musical instruments.

It is a nice machine but I'm replacing it with something even better.
