G&L Handbook: Horizontal Boring, Drilling and Milling Machines and Their Application

Post up if you would commit to pay for a real copy of this book.
I would, and I'm also local. If we are talking less than 20 copies of 100 pages (which I suspect is the case), I could also spiral bind the copies before they are sent out to people. If that's desirable, I'd take my copy in trade. :-)

Well, that would take three times as long, but if it's a reasonable number of copies (I am not a professional bindery), I'd still be willing to spiral bind them.

I am sure two-sided copies can be made.
Brian, are the original brochures and sales sheets basically black&white with maybe one accent color? Or are many of them full-color? If the former, we can do B/W copies. If the later, we should do color copies, which will be significantly more expensive.

The Kearney and Trecker salesmans book, is not something anyone wants to copy. The Giddings and Lewis book seems to have some fans. I just used the sales catalog as an example of why I no longer want to just let people "borrow" my books.

The 3 HBM heads arranged on a planer was particularly cool !
I wonder if such a machine was ever built or if so, how many?

I once went to an auction in the UK. The place was a tank factory and they had smaller versions of machines like the one you mention. They had two facing each other for working on either side of the tank hull. It was obsolete and up for auction. I don’t know what it went for. Not much I would have thought, as it was pretty specialised.

One of the workmen there told me it was installed by an Italian company in 1939, just before war broke out. He said the company rigged a special walkway from the entrance of the building to the site of the machines with canvas sheets. This was to prevent the Italians seeing anything else of the factory.

Regards Tyrone.
