Clearly a South Bend cross-slide and compound (not sure if for 9", 10K, or 10L). The stamping under the compound casting should help you identifying what model it is for.

You can check if the follow rest bolts to the cross-slide (i.e. comes from same model lathe).

No clue on that sort of stand. Perhaps, adding a ruler to the pictures helps understanding the dimensions. Are those just square grooves or T-slots?

Paolo

if you need dimensions to figure out the follow rest, let me know. Looks just like the one on my 9".

the square table looks just like the one you'll find on an Atlas XY table.

You guys are awesome... i forgot i got this piece as well.
Looks like i just need the piece that connects the acme screw to the table attachment.
Thanks.

If you check some of the parts lists on Vintage Machinery for the 10" or 12" lathes made by the same people you may find that the missing feed nut is the same part number as the lathe cross slide nut.
If so, a new or used one my still be available .
If not available and you are equipped to make one it shouldn't be too hard.
The missing gib may not be the same as the lathe parts but its even easier to make .

those Atlas XY tables go for a pretty penny if you can get it all together and working.

My SB9" follower rest has W9 on the back of the casting and measures 4.5" from the midline of the bolt slots to the center point of the fingers. Forgot to measure the bolt to bolt distance though :)

The cross slide and compound bottom are likely off a 9" southbend. Show the *side* of the compound bottom, it it's 'thin' then 9", if 'thick' it's to a 10K. None of this is from a 10L, the cross-slide nut mounting is wrong for that.

Nope, tain't. That's a (very nice) view of the side of the cross-slide. I was asking for a similar side view of the compound base, the one with the spigot on it.

Not sure i understand which one your talking about.
Can you give me a pic number from the photos from the first 2 posts?

If you check on page 6 & 7 of the pdf
http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/51/2114.pdf

you will see the casting number 10-301 in the this picture ,
https://www.practicalmachinist.com/...me-bits-pieces-need-id-help-thumbnail-10-.jpg
is also the part number for the 10-301 swivel compound rest.
I think what is confusing the issue here is that this part was shown end to end with the South Bend cross slide in post # 5 ,
The spigot may well be the same size as the one on a 9" or other South Bend Lathe but you can see the parts from a South bend compound here for comparison

9 inch South Bend lathe compound slide - Google Search
I think you will find that the 10-301 is the same part used on the lathes made by the same people that made the XY table.

I have owned both a 9" South Bend and a 10" of the other kind of lathe and still have an XY table but don't remember the exact dimensions of any of them to be 100% sure.
Jim
P.S. as mentioned earlier about the missing feed nut 537-026 for the XY table being the same as for a lathe , I tried this
