and I still got a 163 Z axis fault. on the low voltage powe suply i got 12 Volts on Yellow to Black and 12 volts on White to Black.

What else should i check

Hello,

This looks like you might have an issue with your cable or motor. you go through your motor pins and look for grounds. you should only have one ground i believe. You can always call the Haas factory service department for further assistance at 805-278-8500.

Vf3ss-apc brand new, same alarm.

Cobra,
May i ask what the machine was doing before it alarmed out?

I am currently running 2 Vf3's, one of which alarmed out of sleep mode with a 163.

About 5 min into a sleep mode (m95) of 13 hours the machine woke up and alarmed out with both 163 and a alarm 994 "amplifier overload". The machine was sitting idle untouched with y axis at home, x axis at -20., and z axis at -2. before it alarmed out.

This only occurred last night, I have not yet had a chance to contact my applications guy or the service dept to inquire as to why that may have happened.

Best of luck,
T. Bigelow

one note
It appers to alarm at the end of a plunge and it also drifts too far adout .100"
too deep. I am curious if there is a problem with the Elector Magnetic break
engagement. I think this 02 VF-3 is the first year of the Elector Magnetic
break system over the Nitrogen CounterBalance system
