For 5000+ years these people have been arguing over who's invisible friend in the sky is the true one which is a heretic. These are life long beliefs based on ancient fairy tales and you are not going to change their mind.
God gave them this land, so they can do anything to anyone that tries to take it. Doesn't matter which side, they both argue the same damn thing. My made up god can beat up your made up god.

Religion is the bane of humanity.
Humanity is the bane of humanity. Humans will always find some excuse to fight, religion notwithstanding.

Good they are finally talking about an end to this war, even though it is just a pause.

It will never be over because Jews and Arabs will have difficulty sharing the promised land... and Iran likely will fund more radicals.

likely cost $1,100,000,000.000 to restore. A darn shame if we think the USA should give free money for that.

Jews and Arabs would not give the USA that much free money if we needed it.
Perhaps we could borrow that much from China at 10% interest to give it away for free. Or we could take a second mortgage on all our paid off assets.

Laws against discrimination might be a good start for Israeli and Gaza.
Jews and Arabs could still hate each other but thay could not act on it.

And the USA will continue to prop up the state of Israel. There is more support in the US for Israel's actions than in Israel (on a percentage basis).

Safe to say we (that is, the USA) haven't found a way to stop the violence and it will continue so long as we support it.

Hey uria

IDF is now using White Phosphorus in Lebanon, you must be proud of your guys.

From The Guardian.

White House 'concerned' by reports Israel military is using white phosphorus

The White House says it is “concerned” over new reports that Israel used US-supplied white phosphorus in a bombing attack in Lebanon that injured civilians and burned down houses.

John Kirby
, strategic communications coordinator for the National Security Council, has just been briefing reporters aboard Air Force One, and was asked about the allegations.

Israel has previously denied it uses white phosphorus, which critics say put civilians at risk of serious and long-term injury, and is banned from use in civilian areas. On at least three occasions, 10, 11 and 16 October, Israel launched attacks in southern Lebanon, with Human Rights Watch posting links to video of “155mm white phosphorus artillery projectiles being used, apparently as smokescreens, marking or signaling”.

Kirby said the Biden administration would be raising the new report with Israel’s government:

We’ve seen the reports, we’re certainly concerned about that. We’ll be asking questions and trying to learn a little bit more.

It’s important to remind that white phosphorus does have a legitimate military utility in terms of illumination and reducing smoke to conceal movements.

And obviously any time that we provide items like white phosphorus to another military, it is with full expectation that it’ll be used for legitimate purposes and in keeping with the law of armed conflict.

-------------------------------------------------

Of course we should ignore the fact that the 155mm White Phosphorus shells are supplied by the USA

Some more strict christians do not make that distinction between kill and murder.
There is nothing wrong with that either. Some people live with more personal convictions than others. If either the concept of self defense; or the act of taking the life of an animal for food would cause a person to falter in their faith, then they should not do it.

AFAIK Only Jews and 7th day adventists keep the last day of the week as the sabbath day. Any calendar will show the last day of the week is Saturday not Sunday.
MY oven made by GE in the USA has "Sababth mode" for Jewish owners. Turns off certain functions like the microwave, lights, timers, buzzers and kind sorta the thermostat. I think it still has a functioning fire alarm if it goes over 750 degrees or so.

I think you have mentioned this once before. It made me chuckle, I'd never heard of it before that.

Fun fact; Christianity is the only religion ever to exist in which you play absolutely no part in your salvation - just as we play no part in our birth.
You cannot pray your way into heaven and no amount of good deeds, charitable actions or silly rituals to show your virtue among men will gain a person salvation either. There is only one way; By Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. This is the foundation of Christianity and it's as simple as it gets.

We are all human though and there are traits that we all share. One of which is the need for rules and structure.

God; "Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy".

Humans; "ok, will do! Oh wait, what does that mean? Okay let's make some rules; no eating, driving, buying, working. No treatment for sick loved ones and no charity for others. No thinking about anything but God all day. If you suffer ritualistically; God loves you - if you don't, then you'd better pretend so that others think you are."

Humans get so caught up in rules, rituals and one-upsmanship that it's easy to forget why they began in the first place. "Sabbath mode" on an appliance is a great example. God knows what is in our hearts, why would he care what is on our microwaves?

Matthew chapters 5,6 and 7 are "The sermon on the mount" and detail the hypocrisy and misunderstanding the Jews had for the 10 commandments at the time.

Such as; "You have heard that it was said, 'you shall not commit adultery'; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Find a man alive who isn't guilty of that one...

For 5000+ years these people have been arguing over who's invisible friend in the sky is the true one which is a heretic. These are life long beliefs based on ancient fairy tales and you are not going to change their mind.

Religion is the bane of humanity.

So God does not exist because humans are petty, selfish and quarrelsome?

Let's say you've created an AI universe just like this one; fully autonomous and self sustaining. Could the people of that world prove your existence without doubt? Or would they desperately search for any other explanation for creation because your existence is too irrational to them?

If we removed the word God from your rant and insert; tribe, brotherhood, legion, nationality, kingdom, Marxism, government, skin color or ideology... Shall we expect a different outcome?

The Israelites terrorized the British to eventually drive them out. That was 75 years ago.
But they did have a method of fighting that avoided civilian casualties.
Everybody dress with bright colored garments, stand in a straight line, and shoot.

The Guardian article you quoted states that it is an allegation; which means that it has not been proven. Have you found proof to support your definitive statement?

Or were you just so giddy at the prospect of people burning to death in Lebanon that you had to come here and share?

What you've just done is a perfect example why sane and rational people cannot stand the media.

No I'm not giddy at the prospect of innocent civilians getting hit with white phosphorous, not sure how you draw that conclusion.

How about the Washington Post, good enough for you?

from the article

DHEIRA, Lebanon — Israel used U.S.-supplied white phosphorus munitions in an October attack in southern Lebanon that injured at least nine civilians in what a rights group says should be investigated as a war crime, according to a Washington Post analysis of shell fragments found in a small village.

A journalist working for The Post found remnants of three 155-millimeter artillery rounds fired into Dheira, near the border of Israel, which incinerated at least four homes, residents said. The rounds, which eject felt wedges saturated with white phosphorous that burns at high temperatures, produce billowing smoke to obscure troop movements as it falls haphazardly over a wide area. Its contents can stick to skin, causing potentially fatal burns and respiratory damage, and its use near civilian areas could be prohibited under international humanitarian law.
Of the nine injured in Israel’s attack on Dheira, at least three were hospitalized, one for days.
Lot production codes found on the shells match the nomenclature used by the U.S. military to categorize domestically produced munitions, which show they were made by ammunition depots in Louisiana and Arkansas in 1989 and 1992. The light green color and other markings — like “WP” printed on one of the remnants — are consistent with white phosphorous rounds, according to arms experts.

Is that good enough, or do you need Tucker Carlson or Hannity to tell you?

Really you don't care if civilians are getting hit with white phosphorus, do you?

The Guardian is one of the most respected publications.

The Guardian isn't worse than the rest. However, like most news agencies, they publish stories before there is any substantive information and then just fill the rest with fluff.

Their job is to publish a catchy headline, get you to click on it and then share the link so that others will click on it.

The US representative they are quoting was very clear that: 1.) there is an allegation against the Israeli military and 2.) The US government is interested in investigating it... Full stop, end of story.

The Guardian had to carry it on further to discuss other instances; uses for white phosphorus and whatever else they could squeeze on the page.

You quoted the article and made this definitive statement:

"IDF is now using White Phosphorus in Lebanon"

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. Alleged means nothing, I can allege you of anything, it doesn't mean that it's true.

You replied all of that to someone presumed to be an Israeli citizen and insisted that he must be proud...

Taking a jab at him was your intended goal; the information was merely the tool you were attempting to do it with. Unfortunately for you, your conclusion was incorrect.

you didn't read the WaPo article did you? That seemed quite definitive. You see you error that most people like you do. You cherry pick the facts that fit your narrative.

100% correct. The first time you've come to a correct conclusion in your life.

You know what? you and uria can choke on my dick. I'm sure not the first time for either of you.

So we have the US government saying to Israel “ You are killing too many civilians, it needs to stop “ and in the next breath it’s “ How many shells do you need guys, we’ve got plenty for sale “.

Then you wonder why Uncle Sam is really disliked by most non-aligned nations.

Regards Tyrone

And again from the Guardian (see a pattern here Freedommachine)

from the article

The Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war in Gaza has come under intensified scrutiny after it revealed it had bypassed Congress to supply tank shells, and was reported not to be carrying out continual assessments of whether Israel was committing possible war crimes.

Zelensky's going to be upset as Congress is holding up the latest funding he's expecting.

OT (We're watching 8'000-10'000 children at least be slaughtered in Gaza,)

Could be, or an exaggerated number.
any children killed or kidnapped is a dirty shame.
Leveling Gaza won’t stop hostilities.

I blame both sides.
