Help with Roll-In Band Saw feed cylinder

Hello everyone. I have recently restored my grandfather's Roll-In EF-1459. It was missing the feed cylinder, so I made my own with a cheap air cylinder (I know, this might be the problem). It works exactly as intended, but when I reset the saw for another cut, if I don't push it REALLY slowly, oil gets pushed out of the breather hole on the PVC expansion tank. As I understand, I need the expansion tank since the two sides of the cylinder had different volumes. (due to the presence of the rod on one side)

I very much modeled this setup after this post: https://www.practicalmachinist.com/forum/threads/roll-in-band-saw-help.194469/post-1437844

I didnt want to resurrect such an old thread asking for help. It looks like Idahoan's expansion tank is sealed, but when I tried to seal mine the whole system shut down since there was nowhere for the air to go in the tank, and it just built up pressure and didnt move. Perhaps he also has a small breather hole. Is this situation unavoidable? Should I maybe attach a small, long length of tubing to the breather and run it around and up the saw frame so any oil that comes out just cant make it out of the end of the tube? That seems like a hack, but I will take whatever works at this point.

Thanks!

By the way, my Parma has a small pin hole in the top of the fill cap. It might burp a little when you bleed and fill but after that it won't leak any more fluid.

Honestly, because the OEM part was really expensive. I wish I had a better reason but I'm afraid that's it. I know, get what you pay for.....
