chevyfourme:

Hendey lathe No. 37588H585, a 14" x 30" No.2 General Purpose model, was complete on January 15, 1951. It is an RS
(Raised Swing model) that will swing 16-1/2 inches over the bed. It was shipped with an Oil Pan, a Thread Chasing Dial,
Regular Equipment (as shown in the catalog), Taper Spindle Nose, High Speed Reversing Mechanism , 30rpm to 1142rpm
Spindle Speeds and Roller Bearings on Main Spindle. Motor Drive in Cabinet Leg with 5HP Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled
Motor, Frame 254, 220 volts, 3 Phase, 60 cycles, 1800 RPM. Spindle Chuck Adapter, Leveling Screws and Chrome Plated
Handwheels, Handles and Levers. It was shipped to the Hendey dealer in Philadelphia, Lloyd and Arms. Normally, when
shipped to a dealer there is no record of the original owner, but in this case it was listed because it was dropped shipped.
The original owner is listed as Pangborn Corporation, Hagerstown, Maryland. There are still some repair parts left in
inventory for this lathe. All of the original drawings are still in the files, so parts can be made if required. The "H" in the Serial
Number indicated that the Bed was Induction Hardened and Ground. If you require additional information, parts or drawings, contact me directly at: [email protected]
