I sold my Hardinge HLV EM that was in the for sale section here to PM member jraksdhs
So I thought to show you how I crated the machine
The bare parts of the machine and also the collets were sprayed with a light conservation oil Ensis DW1262
Everything inside the cabinet is blocked with carton boxes to prevent vibration
I ordered a crate with additional 2 stringers that I then place directly under the machine So now it stands on a bigger surface on the deck
Then the crate is lined with VCI plastic foil That foil takes up the moisture inside the crate
Srewed some plywood on the deck so the leveling feet of the machine were free Now it stands on those 3 plywood strips
Some plywood at the back blocks the machine in that direction
The machine was placed inside the crate then and then blocke with plywood
Then 2 pc of timber on the ways with plywood at a angle to block it
Then timber was screwed on top of the crosstimbers and screwed to the side
Now the machine is comletly blocked inside the crate
Then finaly the lid was screwed on
