How to Check COR on a horizontal.

Hello all,

this week we got the G68.2 enabled on our HMC but i am not 100% sure if i am checking the COR Correctly:confused:

what i am doing is: Face of a surface at B0 then B90 and then at B270 (all with G68.2 & G43 and the same tool) (X offset in the middle of the part)

Copy the program delete the lines for cutting so only the final Z depth remains put the Dial indicator on run the program stop the machine at B0 Z0 Set the indicator on 0 then restart the program.

B0 shows 0 B90 +0.1mm off and B270 +0.6mm off.:eek:

So is this a reliable way to check if the COR is set correctly or am i just :nutter:

I also tried the same approach on a tombstone setting X Offset in the middle then running the program(No cutting though) and it showed 0.035mm off from B90 to B270.

I am also pretty sure we set the COR Correctly, took the test bar and rotate around B0 and B180 until the indicator showed +/-0.002mm(X Axis) on each side set the machine X0 rotate to B90 take the test bar out set the indicator at the flange 0(HSK Spindle) Jog Z+ way out reinsert the test bar touch off, write down the test bar lenght Jog out incrimental the radius of the test bar and this should be the correct COR.

The way I typically do it is have something in the machine I can cut on 3 sides. Then probe it for X and Z. That usually gets it within 3μm... as long as the probe is calibrated properly.

Y-Axis we usually set to the top of the pallet..
 
Any ideas why would be the COR out of whack? Parameter setting? outputted code? simply aligned wrong?

I like to go after low hanging fruit first. :)

I don't think your code as shown is going to work...
