Hurco VMX30S - ultimax 4 control , dual screen
This machine has been a trooper , power it and it turns on without fail untill..................
I left the machine off for a short while , 3-4 weeks , upon power up , we get so far through the boot process then we hit a stop . There is an error above the flashing cursor on screen - Unknown flash ,
I pulled the HDD made a backup and had no real issue talking to it , it seemed plugged in properly. Seems ok on that front , I have had a look in the bios and the date and time still seem correct , I do not know the battery history so i will investigate and find a new battery anyway. It just seems like its forgot something ?
I have quite a few floppy discs with this machine . I have tried booting the machine with the 1st disc in the A drive but it does not seem to do anything ,if I use any of the other discs it seems to know its not the right disc.
I have read a fair bit on here and tried most of the suggested things that seem to crop up bar messing with the heatsink.
When you power the machine up with the cabinet open after 5 seconds we get a singular beep , on the other one that means everything is ok normally so i assume the same on this one.
feels like myself and machine are both puzzled ,
Do i need to make a new boot disc , they have been sat in the back of this machine for the last 15 year so i cant imagine they are perfect, so far i cant see any caps that are bulging or vaporised
Any help would be massively appreciated ,
