Job opening - Kamloops BC, Canada.
Looking for experienced & ticketed machinist for a role beginning this winter (date TBD but likely December or January).

Ideally you’d have experience with:
- Turning centres (single and/or multi turret, twin spindle, live tooling)
- Setup, operation, monitoring and programming of turned and milled parts. Some assistance and training can be provided but this is not a role for newbies.
- Turning and milling operations (both separately and integrated in a single machine)
- Automation/lights-out production of turned parts
- Swiss type turning
- 3 and 4 axis milling on VMC/HMC. 5 axis great but not a current capability of ours.
- Fanuc & Haas controls. To be frank they’re similar enough that if you’re good with one it’s not much more to learn with the other.
- Turning aluminum, plastic and stainless (we are 90/5/5 by percentage on each of those) and maintaining chip control
- Reading and interpreting g-code
- QC of parts in-process

The vast majority of our work is aluminum turning of our own products. This also means you always have someone on hand to ask questions and to give feedback on manufacturability. We do our own prototyping and production, which also means that you will have a lot of input on design for manufacturability.

Further responsibilities will include auxiliary tasks such as shipping parts out for external processes such anodizing, monitoring material inventory, placing and receiving material orders, disposing of chips, sending RFQs and orders for tooling etc. We’re a small team so you may occasionally be called on for other tasks too.

Candidates must be legally allowed to live and work in Canada, and be fluent in English. We cannot sponsor international applicants sorry.

In addition to competitive pay rates (to be discussed based on experience, references and competence), we offer some flexibility in working hours (provided the work gets done), no expectation of regular overtime (80hrs/fortnight is the standard), and a prioritization of physical and mental health - we encourage our staff to take their sick days, or use them as paid days off if they would prefer. You’ll have a fairly varied range of work to perform too, we run batches of parts that are typically only 1-3 days to complete.

Email and company name currently kept confidential for several reasons related to new projects - please send me a PM with any questions or to obtain the email address for applications.
