L&S American L1 spindle nose

I have a Lodge and shipley 14
Model A. 1943, It does have the American L1 spindle.
Anyone that knows this machine could confirm the internal taper size.
OEM had a adapter that fit spindle and fit the MT 4
Same as tailstock.

You could post what you could measure - like how close to 2" is the big end of the spindle taper. One of the suggested tapers in USAS B5.9 Spindle Noses is American Standard #200 - which is 3/4" taper per foot on diameter and 2.000" at big end of taper


May be something else of course

I have the 14" and the 16" model A (early & late 40's) and have followed these versions for many years and have never encountered a single one of those dead center collets nor do my original manuals reference that specific part other than a full machine picture showing the collet/center in place. Will shoot you a PM
