I thought about starting a page on facebook for only photographs of lineshaft driven machine shops but I think I will post them here instead. If anyone else has some lineshaft machine shop photos I would like to see them here as well.

Here is the first, a small planer running a job, no other info.

A link to a page I made for the Fay & Scott company, Dexter ME circa 1900-1910, a few pics from later on. I visited the Dexter Historical Society in 2012 and scanned these pics from a photo album various folks related to the enterprise had put together over the years. Some were saved from the dumpster during cleanout of the old building.

These are resized for convenient viewing- .zip files containing the full resolution images and some pdfs here http://pounceatron.dreamhosters.com/fay-scott/

What a treasure trove of machining history. I can almost smell it when I look at those photos.
