Need help identifying some machinery

Hello all, I purchased a shop that had some old machinery in it. Some have manufacturer names on them but not much else as far as identifying markers. Any help identifying what they are would be greatly appreciated. This first one I believe is a lathe of some sort, manufactured by Brown & Sharpe. Thanks in advance for any help!

I will take a guess that the old lathe was not made by Brown & Sharpe, but has been grafted on to a B&S base made for a different type of machine. Holes in the legs might be for a countershaft with a pulley to drive a belt through the narrow slots in the base top. If so, the original machine had only a single drive pulley, not a step pulley like the lathe has.

There is a brass nameplate on the base that is probably a dealer's, but may still be interesting to see.
