I'm interested in seeing how you like it. We have a ZVH45 on our showroom floor, but it's Fanuc controlled. We haven't done anything with it yet. However, we've had a few tire kicks.

Congrats on the new toy and move.
guess it's too late to invite you to my little poor boy shop.
640 control is freaking amazing.

Novi, Michigan was named for stage station number 6 (vi in Roman numerals). Local trivia.

And congrats on the new machine. So many axis to get lost.

Congrats, nice looking machine.

Curious, what kind of shop rate can you charge for this type of machine and what's your projected ROI?

My huevos have some growing to do before pulling the trigger on something like this.

i'm doing strictly internal R&D, so thats not really a concern to us. but i'd think that ~150/hr would be min to charge on a machine like this.

What kind of company buys a half-million dollar machine for R&D?

A machine like this is suited to big engine block types of parts I would think. I don't see how it could possibly be a good investment for an R&D place unless you're doing parts that would cost thousands each to have machined by someone else. And if you were doing small or medium parts, there's still a whole class of more normal 5 axis VMCs that can do them at half the price or less, so that must mean you're doing big heavy parts that the 60 horsepower hsk spindle can rip up, right?

Really cool machine and we'll all be jealous, waiting to see what cool parts you show us... if you're allowed to take pictures of them!
