New South Bend 9 - Igaging DRO mounting components

I thought some of you might like to see the Igaging DRO that I fitted to my South Bend 9a. I designed the parts in Solidworks and printed them on a Prusa I3 Mk3s+ filament 3D printer using ASA (like ABS) plastic. The files are posted over at www.printables.com at this link:

I milled material away on the crossfeed where it extends as a cover over the crossfeed screw. It was pretty straight forward to clamp the crossfeed slide ipside down on the bed of the mill and slowly take off the material. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of this.

I plan to design a cover to snap on over the crossfeed sensor and slide to protect it from chips. I will post it when I have it.

If you decide to make one for yourself, please post some pictures! I would get a kick out of that.

Nice.

Much better than having the scales hanging out in the open where they can get banged up.

This might be a reason to get a 3d printer.
