You may like it but it doesn't fit the rules we are supposed to follow. And it would be nice if people knew you were representing a dealer. No problem with that but it's the kind of thing that is better out in the open, imo. That's maybe why there was a little friction.
For future reference please, the rules related to this part of the forum? I do not see a pinned post explaining who, what, where, when, why and how. Genuine question, I want to respect the rules in place.

Most liked post of the month in that subreddit, just saying. My photo sir, not stolen.

I liked the photo too, but this isn't Reddit. We don't come here to scroll through pictures, partly because you can't. You've got to open the post. See the difference? Hence a courteous, meaningful title.

Are you going to tell us the story behind the photo or just keep us hanging? If you don't know the story, well that is fine, but tell us.

maybe a vague title yes, but you don’t get the whole movie from a title either. Not here to piss you all off.

Well this isn't Netflix. Many times mods have requested meaningful titles and told why. I don't understand meaningkess titles. It's kinda like turning over a rock to see what is underneath.

A better title would be "Guess". Guess what the post is about. Guess the story behind the pic.

The most important stuff is at the bottom, since it came first. But basically it's just - meaningful topic tiltes, like was mentioned, so people can search or see what the topic is about, and no home shop hobbyist stuff because there's other better places for that. I'm not gong to mention the no chit-chat part cuz some of us seem to violate that more than we should.

You're lucky DiggerDoug seems to be on vacation, he's the hall monitor, and does an excellent job :D but I can see his point, if you're looking for information, these make sense.

I will keep that in mind, thank you. In my defense, this topic area clearly states below the title, Interesting photos of machine tools or accessories, so given the context of this sub forum and that statement, I thought a little vague title may perk an “interest”, thus, in my opinion, staying in the spirit of the above mentioned context. I stand corrected.

Again, in my understanding, I thought this was a place, because of what is stated under the title of this sub, a place to post “interesting photos of machine tools”. That’s the topic of this sub, from my understanding. If not I stand corrected.

Backstory, full disclosure, 9 like new 2015 Bridgeports and 10 like new 13x40 Clausing Colchesters from a Tech college, all came in on one truck. Quite a site from a logistical standpoint. I don’t see used machines in this condition very often, so the posting here and elsewhere were to let folks that don’t see mainstream marketing for whatever reason, know they are available. I’m not here to hustle or peddle them, just bring to light that they exist in the used market. If someone had a genuine need and asks, I’ll communicate in regards to it, but I’m not a hustler, they sell themselves, 1/2 are already gone.

My only complaint is that the camera phone was held vertically rather than on the horizontal. Would have given even greater detail including more of the lathes on the right. :)
I’d show you, but I really feel like I’m on thin ice here, I’m trying to carefully making my way back to land without getting wet.

That would have made an interesting story. This probably is the right place, just a little more description would have been good.

Nah, just a little confusion at first. Just sticking up a photo without any story maybe led people astray.

You are on a forum full of people who read machine manuals for fun. Machinists are over-the-top detail oriented. We are here because we enjoy learning, so posting a picture with zero information is incredibly frustrating.

Where are the machines leaving and why? Where are they headed and why? Did a large company go under? Is a school starting up a program? INFO, MAN!

Exactly!

@Belmont Nice photo! Thanks for posting! Tell us the back story on the machines :-)

Don't worry about those haters, they are all miserable deplorable POS's living their own unhappy miserable lives. Just ignore them.

Thank you! The backstory is posted above in one of the comments. I don’t want to be too repetitive. In the future should I post again I will be sure to be very descriptive and thorough in both the context and title..

Full Info above in a previous comment, don’t want to be redundant. I’ve been speaking with machinists/ shop owners for almost 30 years, I know how detail oriented they are, I admire it, but I also know, every single one that has come to my warehouse is, in their own words, “like a kid in a candy store”. I’ll do better!
