I'm a newbie. I am attempting to bring an old Shoreline 5000 mill back to life. Both the X and Y axis tables are hard to move. When I was disassembling them the X-axis saddle nut came out with manual leadscrew. Can put it back in and how would I do that? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If you look through the site "rules," you will see why someone suggested you put your aluminum machine in lye, which will dissolve aluminum, though I find that advice rather harsh.

The maker of the mill has a website and you could ask them for advice and whether they supply replacement parts. They also sell books suited to owners of their machines on their website.
