OT: Diabetes awareness, what would you do?

RE: Sit out on the patio, have a cold drink / go fishing / make a bratwurst sandwich.
But that is for Me....
If you do any of those things and find misfortune, Choke on the brat, drownd, fall off the chair. Get poisoned ..It is not my fault.

In the old days threads used to be be locked for "meaningless title" on day one....

You can’t catch diabetes. It is a failure of the pancreas. Eating less carbs/sugar helps control it. Has nothing to do with getting it.

Also, when your sugar gets low, you may need 3 little debbies and a real coke to get back home. The guy you saw may have been in that situation. Don’t ask how I know.

Are you suggesting that a complete stranger may not know all the facts about an issue from first glance? And then they should possibly shut the fuck up?

If so....I agree.

Not true.

There is a direct correlation of dietary intake of sugars with body fat retained in the midriff/abdomen.

These types of fatty deposits are linked to developing diabetes plus other maladies.

Same as smoking does not cause lung cancer. It is because people prone to get lung cancer are the same folks who like smoking. Something in the native metabolism of smoke likers causes it not the smoking. Millionaire tobacco executives said it so it must be true.
It is just that people disposed to get diabetes have a sweet tooth and like to be overweight. Which is cause and which is effect.

I can’t believe it took this long for somebody to tell me I’m wrong. Main purpose of online forums I guess. I’ve only been a diabetic for 30 plus years. No way I could know more about it than somebody’s link.

Are you quite sure you can’t catch diabetes? Or cancer?
I’m not so sure myself, the virus world is not well understood according to what I’ve been reading, perhaps even mental illness?, thing is, you can’t eliminate it, runs in families, they mostly live together.
I’m not saying you can catch it but are we shure.
Btw the melting ice sheet that science said was going bye bye is according to the survey , 661 giga tons bigger in ten years, not to mention the now prolific polar bears ( should be all but gone) known science, it’s a myth
They said they “own” the science, they weren’t joking

We aren't real we are fake, all our actions and warnings are fake...that's why there is no list of moderators anywhere on here.

But the bans...the bans are very real. some are short, some are long, and some are forever...but they are definitely...real.

I had a regular visit to my oncologist because I had prostate cancer. This visit I casually mention some different symptoms and he says “You’ve lost 10 lbs since your last visit. You might be diabetic!” Nurse checks my blood sugar 460! He tells me I need to see an endocrinolgist right away. I can’t get an appointment for a month. He says I can’t wait that long and he gets me an appoinment in 2 days.
Little bit of insulin and diet change, lost another 11 pounds and I am now 162 lbs, eI have it under control, staying in the 80 to 130 range.
So this is where my morning visit to the Wawa food store gets interesting. I see this guy every day. He buys a 24 oz coffee and Dumps sugar in from a canister, maybe a quarter of it! Then he adds a huge amount of French Vanilla flavoring which is almost pure sugar. Finally he tastes it and shakes a whole bunch more sugar in!!!
So would I be out of line speaking to him about diabetes and offering to test his blood sugar with the meter I have in my pocket? Because it may just save his life.
Why do you "think" sugar is the cause of diabetes?
Your opinion is no more valid that that of others that have studied it.

But in these times dumb is considered sensible, so if it looks like a duck and quacks it might be anything other than an Allen wrench.
